[jira] [Created] (SPARK-10123) Cannot set "--deploy-mode" in default configuration

Marcelo Vanzin created SPARK-10123:
--------------------------------------

Summary: Cannot set "--deploy-mode" in default configuration
                 Key: SPARK-10123
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-10123
             Project: Spark
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Spark Core
            Reporter: Marcelo Vanzin
            Priority: Minor

There's no configuration option that is the equivalent of "--deploy-mode". So it's not possible, for example, to have applications be submitted in standalone cluster mode by default - you have to always use the command line argument for that.

YARN is special because it has the (somewhat deprecated) "yarn-cluster" master, but it would be nice to be consistent and have a proper config option for this.
