what does {mode:browse} ? What difference does it make with a LVQ?

Hi could someone please tell me what difference does a {mode:browse} make
when creating a receiver to a LVQ ?

Browsing a queue means the client will not cause messages to be dequeued 
even when the messages it receives are acknowledged. I.e. it is a 
non-destructive operation.
