Not anymore able to login into WIndows7 via RDP

Thank you Nick. After a few days I can say everything runs normal.
No complain from any users.
Just a info : Windows 10 is also affected but it just show regularly the
connection lost
info pop-up. But also where disable glyph caching.

Thanks for confirming. Please note that we have just pushed a commit to git
that will disable this option forcibly due to the lack of upstream support
in FreeRDP. This will be part of the next release.

can work with Windows 7.

Yes, the caching has been an issue in the past that has affected
versions of Windows differently - hence asking whether you were
experiencing the same problems with W10.
The issue comes about from changes in FreeRDP, which is likely to be
different between the Guacamole 1.2 and 1.3 Docker images.
I'm not sure what FreeRDP version is in the current Docker images but if
you find disabling the caching fixes your issue it'd be useful to let us
know, thanks.

Yes, both Docker container I have upgraded to Version 1.3.0
Windows 10 Machines runs without any issues.
I've got a mail today with a hint : Disable glyph caching. I will try that
later.
Under 1.2.0 glyph caching is enabled.

I too have seen problems with 1.3.0 not being able to connect servers and
workstations which should be out of service. I leave those turned off unless I
need to check something on them. I can connect but get disconnected after about
2 seconds to both Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 2008R2. Previously 1.1.0
worked. I was never able to get guacamole 1.2.0 running due to
complications with attempting to combine that with an OS upgrade.

Benny,
Thanks, I wasn't aware it was the official Docker images you were using.
I've no personal experience with them, but don't recollect seeing anyone
else with the issue you describe.
I see there are two images, have you used both of them, an have you
followed the detail here?:

Hi Ivan

I destroy the 1.2.0 Container and remove (also the Image) then I create a
new one with
docker run --name guacd -d guacamole/guacd
docker run --name guacamole --link guacd:guacd --link mariadb:mysql -v
guacamole_data:/etc/guacamole -e MYSQL_DATABASE=guacamole_db -e
MYSQL_USER=*** -e MYSQL_PASSWORD=*** -e GUACAMOLE_HOME=/etc/guacamole -d -p
8080:8080 guacamole/guacamole
Note : These are the official Docker Guacamole Images.
Also the DB and /etc/guacamole stay still the same.
After this upgrade I have problems like my first post. Even if I reboot
Windows 7 I run into the same fault.
When I go back to 1.2.0 everything works fine again.
So I'm safe to say it's a problem with 1.3.0

The underlying OS should no a problem. The OS inside the Container is
given by the Guacamole Docker Container (Image).
Also a complet fresh install (remove all Guacamole Containers and the DB
Container and the Volume)
makes in my view no sense. Especially I have to register / Program all users
TOTP token new (I use
Guacamole TOTP two-factor authentication).
Thanks for your Help and Best regards,
benny

Benny,
Is this a completely new Docker install, or have you updated a
previously working 1.2.0?
You don't say what the Docker OS is but, where possible, I've generally
found it best to do as complete a new installation as possible when
upgrading - certainly recompiling various components as needed.
Otherwise if it's a new installation it would pay to check you have set
all the auth parameters (NLA etc) exactly as before. The other thing
that has had an effect in the past (albeit with different log errors) is
in the performance settings for caching. Initially at least I would
disable all of those.
