0.34 Berkeley DB clarification?

Hello everyone

In the announcement e-mail for 0.34 it is said that the
recommended Berkeley DB is 4.2.50. In the
subversion-0.34.0/INSTALL file it still says 4.0.14.

Would it be possible to get some sort of clarification on this
issue? One reason that I'm asking is that I'm having trouble
getting the configure-script for Apache 2.0.48 to go through
with DB 4.2.52. In other words, is 4.0.14 still OK to use?

Thanks
Magnus (not a member of this mailing list)

Has anyone posted any numbers on the performance difference between 4.0
and 4.2 yet?

All versions of Berkeley 4.X are API-compatible, and Subversion will
work fine with any of them. We're "recommending" 4.2, because it seems
to be the fastest and most stable.
