[jira] [Commented] (CAMEL-9587) camel-restlet - Make it easy to turn on gson or jackson

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-9587?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15225973#comment-15225973 ]

Luca Burgazzoli commented on CAMEL-9587:
----------------------------------------

I may be wrong but it looks to me that to disable/enable an extension one has to manipulate a singleton like:

{code:java}
List<ConverterHelper> converters = Engine.getInstance().getRegisteredConverters();
for (ConverterHelper converter : converters) {
    if (converter instanceof JacksonConverter) {
        ...
    }
}
{code}

So removing/adding i.e. a JacksonConverter would affect all the restlets in the same classloader, isn't it ?

> We should make it easy to turn on jackson or gson as the json library. You need to do this by adding those jackson type converters from those restlet.ext JAR files.
> https://restlet.com/technical-resources/restlet-framework/javadocs/snapshot/jse/ext/
> Then we can add some options on the component to turn this on|off.
