apache 2.0.35 and php 4.2

i am installing apache and php on a win 2000 advanced server

i think i have all the php files in the right locations eg php.ini in
C:\winnt but every time i add the LoadModule command to the httpd.conf file
i get this error i have already reinstalled php to no avail. also the error
log gives no hints about the problem

Cannot load C:/Program Files/Apache Group/php4.2/sapi/php4apache.dll into
server: The specified module could not be found.

it is wrecking my head :)
