Given that get_database is easily one of the most frequent calls made on the metastore, we should have the ability to bypass datanucleus for that, and use direct SQL instead.

This was something that I did initially as part of debugging HIVE-7368, but I think that given the frequency of this call, it's useful to have it in mainline direct sql.
