VALIDATE PROBLEM

Hi all,
I have a problem with the validation of my file: how can I to validate a document with Cocoon? I have placed the property  validate in the Cocoon.property to True and I have placed the line in my Xml 
<!DOCTYPE root_element SYSTEM= "........">
but Cocoon give me  a mistake as if it did not find the address  of the Xsl. 
How can I do to validate a file?
