Disk Volume Reporting Wrong Size on 4.17.1.0
Hi Guys
I have a VM with assigned 160 GB disk space. However, CM says the disk
space is 165 GB and its utilisation is 97% and physical size is 160GB on
the primary storage. See attached screenshots. However, when I access
console or ssh for said VM the stats differ completely as shown via df
-h command in screenshot.
I forced reboot the VM, which typically fixes stats on CM but nothing.
What happens if CM sees it utilisation at 100% but then I have many
space left still on the VM itself...?

Thanks, I ran fstrim on both my guest VM and primary NFS storage server
on the / partition, seems the VM physical size remains the same even
after data was trimmed. As for running e4defrag, it actually increased
the physical size instead of decreasing it, lol.
I did check that my primary NFS host supports fstrime since it has SSDs,
and can confirm it is supported. Please let me know if anyone else has
some ideas on this.

If the disk is thin allocated you will need to run fstrim <https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man8/fstrim.8.html> to discard unused blocks.

Just a follow up question on this. If you have a 60 GB VM, for example
and after a month or year said VM has reached its quota limit. And you
proceed to delete files and so lowering the usage to 20 GB out of 60GB
within VM, why is that the VM physical disk size does not decrease?
What's the best method via CM to clean up physical disk usage to match
data within VM?
