Renaming resources in a page

I want to rename image resources in a page so that they have names like
"img01", "img02", etc. Is it simple, or do I have to dig for all references
in the content stream(s) and change them as well? If that's necessary, is
there anywhere else that may be needed?

Indeed, you'd have to change the content stream as well. I can't think 
of other things that need to be changed.
