Index-time translation

Hi,

Pardon me if this has been asked before (couldn't find any
references), but has anyone developed an index-time translation
service for Lucene, such that the indexer could translate a
page in a known natural language into English (or whatever
the indexing language is) and use that to provide the index
content?
