[PR] Blog: Horizon UI — Dashboards That Adapt (MQE & smart widgets, series part 2) [skywalking-website]
wu-sheng opened a new pull request, #856:

## Horizon UI: Dashboards That Adapt — MQE, Smart Widgets, and Numbers Humans Can Read
Part 2 of the Apache SkyWalking Horizon UI series (follows #855, the introduction).
### What this post covers
- **Every widget is one MQE expression** — the five widget types (`card` / `line` / `top` / `record` / `table`) on a dense 12-column grid, the type chosen by the shape of the MQE.
- **Dashboards that adapt to the entity** — server-side `visibleWhen` gates that hide a widget *and skip its query* when it doesn't apply (the JVM panels are present on a Java instance, absent on a Go one).
- **Numbers humans can read** — `enum` (`OK`/`Failed`), `duration` (time-ago), and SI suffixes (`45.1k` / `1.34M`).
- **One synced crosshair** across every line chart on the page.
- **Record → trace** — jump from a slow-statement row straight into its trace (resolved by id, across layers).
- **Lock & compare** entities (opt-in preview), and the **time picker** driving the whole dashboard including the BanyanDB Cold pill.
### Assets
- 6 figures under `static/screenshots/horizon-0.7.0/`, captured from a populated demo deployment.
- Tags use the canonical `data/blog_topics.yml` vocabulary (`Metrics`, `Cloud Native`).
### Notes
- Part 2 of a planned series; later posts (topology, traces, logs, profiling, operate, security, customization, …) follow as separate PRs.
- Publish date `2026-06-21` can be adjusted before merge.
