the new site is under cvs now: step 1 building process review

I guess you are probably not on the docs-cvs list :) There were many
commits there in the last hour. Anyway the new mod_perl site is in cvs,
so you all can try to build your own version of the site and do the
changes against cvs.

Step 1:

While I've supplied DocSet locally, since I change it all the time and
it's not on CPAN, do get the latest version from
http://apache.org/~stas/DocSet-0.08.tar.gz and install it so all the
prerequisites will be in place.

Now when you are done. get the cvs rep:

% cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.apache.org:/home/cvspublic login

the passwd is: anoncvs

% cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@cvs.apache.org:/home/cvspublic co modperl-docs
% cd modperl-docs

% bin/build

voila, check the generated site under dst_html

for the best experience run with -v, to build PDFs run with -d (though
they aren't linked automatically yet)

That's it, if you have any problems let me know.

Notice that we don't announce anything yet, we are not done yet. This is
just a first step to get closer to release and start working tightly
with cvs.

If you want to see changes as they happen subscribe to
docs-cvs-subscribe@perl.apache.org

Also remember that these notes are in modperl-docs/README

Thanks!

It doesn't matter, you can install DocSet as well. It's just that
modperl-docs/lib will have the latest code until DocSet gets formally
released. It's discussed here:
http://www.template-toolkit.org/mailman/listinfo/template-docset

Nope.

Yup, it's a complete rewrite, though a few functionalities weren't
ported yet. (Split documents and extended pod, see the DocSet/TODO)

You mean just run the Makefile.PL to check the dependencies? Is there
anything in that package that isn't in cvs under the modperl-docs/lib
directory?

BTW, is DocSet a complete rewrite of Pod::HtmlPsPdf?

Thanks,
