Time for OpenOffice 4.1.2-RC3

As you may or may not have seen depending on how much you follow
Bugzilla, the number of issues still to verify on RC2 is down to just a
handful "important" ones: http://s.apache.org/KL1

Most notably, we still need verification of:
- WebDAV and Sharepoint issues
- Proper functionality of update URLs for OpenOffice and extensions
- A PDF issue and a LanguageTool issue

If we get them verified very soon (anybody can help!), I'm available to
quickly produce an RC3 which will have:

- https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126586 Completes FreeBSD fixes
- https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=107619 Bug in Find & replace
with regular expression: already accepted blocker, solution was
incomplete in RC2, now supposedly fixed
- https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126582 Completes Sharepoint
fixes
- https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126588 Portuguese dictionary
to be updated (no other requests were received, so no other dictionaries
will be updated)
- https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126480 Updates to build
number and other minor fixes needed to tag RC3

This RC3 will be the release we vote upon. We had one full week to test
RC1, one full week to test RC2, and I expect to start the 72-hour VOTE
on RC3 as soon as possible. We had plenty of time to evaluate RC1 and
RC2; and RC3 should bring no surprises, so let's get into "release mode".

But I still would like the few pending issues in RC2 to be verified
before we start building RC3. Otherwise it's useless to build RC3 and we
could vote on RC2 directly and just live with the few bugs above.

Regards,
   Andrea.

Short update: upload is now ongoing, so we will be able to have RC3
ready for download in a few hours (Friday morning European time). We
should really try to vote quickly, so be ready for testing/checking on
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, plus Monday morning European time. If
everything goes well, we are on schedule for a release next week.

RC2 has been removed from the dist site to prepare for the RC3 upload.

Regards,
   Andrea.

OK, thanks for the tests. Patch is now committed to both trunk and
AOO410 for OpenOffice 4.1.2-RC3.

Updates have been tested but are crucial, so more testing is welcome.
It's simple: all OpenOffice 4.1.2-RC2 installations will now give you
(automatically or using "?" - "Check for updates") a warning saying that
a (fictional!) version 4.1.3 is available. Just check that you are
brought somewhere on the official site. This is worth a check since the
new code for Sharepoint brings some changes in the way web resources are
handled.

That said, I'm happy to say that all issues needing verification have
now been verified, so it is really time for OpenOffice 4.1.2-RC3 as per
subject. Stay tuned for binaries.

Regards,
   Andrea.

Andrea, as you know, I'm willing to test RC3 as soon as it's ready.

I've already tested RC2 against the Sharepoint issue (see
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125194):
- on MacOs X client (v. 10.10.2): it worked fine
- on Windows 7: it failed

Then I've tested RC2 + latest patch from Giuseppe (see
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125194#c25) on Windows 7 and
it worked as expected.
So I'm quite confident RC3 will work fine.

Update: verification of these issues is now complete, with good results
except for a few glitches still existing in the Sharepoint issue. I will
start merging commits to AOO410 in preparation of an RC3 anyway. In the
meantime, please keep testing RC2, even for everyday tasks.

   Andrea.
