Hadoop 0.20.0 : CheckSumError && Broken Pipe exception

Hi All,
                  I am new to hadoop and is using python client to write
Map/Reduce Tasks. I am using hadoop-0.20.0 r763504 (single node), for small
data sets everything works fine, but when running the Map/Reduce tasks I am
frequently getting BrokenPipe Exceptions and checksum errors, can somebody
please give suggestions why was this happening., and suggest how to solve
these errors.
