Move/migration ActiveMQ 5.5.0 from Linux host to Windows host

Hey,

I'm rather new to the ActiveMQ software and I'm trying to figure out how we
can move an existing ActiveMQ 5.5.0 installation to a windows based host.
Don't ask why...

The existing server(s) is a Suse Linux Enterprise Server 11 with HA on top
and we are using an informix database. We would like to setup a host server
that only has ActiveMQ functionality. So the purpose is move the ActiveMQ
functionality from the SLES host to a windows host.
Here are some questions.

1. Is there a valid point into installing it on a Microsoft Windows Server
2012 R2 or should I stay with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1?

2. What is te best way to move the ActiveMQ without loosing
Topics/queues/...

3. Does anyone have a migration plan with detailled steps what to do first
(besides installing the new ActiveMQ host :-))

4. Are there known pitfalls?

Any help would be gratelly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
