Summary: ant.bat can't execute java.exe due to bad argument
Product: Ant
Version: 1.6.5
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Windows XP
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Wrapper scripts
AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org
ReportedBy: stefannorgren@yahoo.se
ant.bat tries to execute the command:
java.exe -classpath "C:\apache-ant-1.6.5\lib\ant-launcher.jar" "-
Dant.home=C:\apache-ant-1.6.5\" org.apache.tools.ant.launch.Launcher
This does not work on my computer with java 1.5.0_09 due to "-character is
placed before -Dant.home=
Possible solution is to change all 5 occurances of
"-Dant.home=%ANT_HOME%"
to
-Dant.home="%ANT_HOME%"
in ant.bat

The ant 1.7.0 manual will have the following quote:
The ant.bat script makes use of three environment variables -
ANT_HOME, CLASSPATH and JAVA_HOME. <b>Ensure</b> that if
these variables are set, they do <b><u>not</u></b> have quotes (either
' or ") and they do <b><u>not</u></b> end with \ or with /.
