[ANNOUNCE] Apache Velocity 1.5 Beta 2

Dear All,

The Velocity developers are pleased to announce a second beta version of
Apache Velocity 1.5.  This beta is one of the final steps before the
long-awaited version 1.5.

Beta 2 is more or less feature-complete.  We said that for Beta 1 too,
but couldn't resist the temptation to add a couple of nifty
enhancements such as the new InvalidReferenceEventHandler (to catch
invalid references), the SecureUberspector (to prevent introspection
on "dangerous objects"), and a StringResourceLoader.  We've also fixed
some critical bugs, including a subtle synchronization problem causing
page generation to fail under heavy loads.  The remaining tasks mostly
involve documentation.

Since we haven't completed our move to the tlp web site, the files are
being distributed from Jakarta.  We encourage you to use the
appropriate mirrors, but you can download the distribution from:
http://www.apache.org/dist/jakarta/velocity/beta/velocity-1.5-beta2/

Please report issues with this release on our bug tracker at
