Just thought I would settle your fears a bit.  My company 
has been using Tomcat in a production environment 
for some time now.  Very successfully too I might add.  
I was the one who submitted the bug report
about thread deadlocking.  However, it only has been
confirmed on multi-processor NT 4 servers.  Thus far, 
we have had no problems with Unix (multi-processor or not)
or other Wintel single processor machines.
