[~tenstriker] a lot has happened to the Cloud ref guide content since you wrote this, the latest version is here [https://lucene.apache.org/solr/guide/8_1/cloud-screens.html]. I'm going to close this issue for now.
Note that if you have concrete suggestions, additions & improvements in mind, it is now possible to submit a documentation Pull Request, you can do so directly from [https://github.com/apache/lucene-solr/blob/master/solr/solr-ref-guide/src/cloud-screens.adoc]
