Executing subprojects first

hello again,

thanks for all the usefull postings. But there is another problem:

my project consists of a master project.xml and several subproject
project.xml files. I'm using inheritance using the <extend> element. But
every time I try to build one of the subprojects e.g. subprojectX ( in
my opinion this is the way to create the subprojectX.jar ) the build
fails because maven tries to download the subprojectX.jar file from the
ibiblio server although the jar just should be created.

How can I fix that maven first executes the subproject.xml and after
that the master?

Re: Executing subprojects first

Posted by Kristine Weissbarth <kr...@sourcepark.de>.
I did overwrite the master dependencies in the subprojects in the
following way:

--- My master project.xml: ---

<dependency>
	<groupId>master-project</goupId>
	<artifactId> X-subproject</artifactId>
</dependency>

--- and my x-subprojects project.xml: ---

<dependency>
	<id>struts</gid>
	<version>1.0.2</versiond>
</dependency>
<dependency>
	<id>castor</id>
	<version>0.9.4.2</versiond>
</dependency>
...

Why should I move the whole dependency element in each subproject, I
thought I have to define each subproject as dependency in the master
project.xml as the master project depends on the subprojects?

hello,

after making the subproject jar,
try "maven jar:install" it will then be in your local repository
