This feature appears to be already implemented. The `HMS` sync mode in `HiveSyncTool` uses Hive's `IMetaStoreClient`, which communicates with the Hive Metastore over Thrift (see `hudi-sync/hudi-hive-sync/src/main/java/org/apache/hudi/hive/ddl/HMSDDLExecutor.java` and `HiveSyncMode.HMS`). HMS mode was added long ago via [PR #2879 (HUDI-1848)](https://github.com/apache/hudi/pull/2879), and Thrift fallback for HMS 4.x in JDBC mode was added recently in [PR #18227](https://github.com/apache/hudi/pull/18227). To enable, set `hoodie.datasource.hive_sync.mode=hms`. Closing as completed unless there's a specific Thrift integration scenario not covered — please reopen with details if so.
