[jira] [Created] (HADOOP-7586) Hadoop daemon does not clean up pid
file upon normal shutdown
Hadoop daemon does not clean up pid file upon normal shutdown
-------------------------------------------------------------
Key: HADOOP-7586
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-7586
Project: Hadoop Common
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: scripts
Affects Versions: 0.22.0, 0.23.0
Environment: Linux
Reporter: Joep Rottinghuis
Assignee: Joep Rottinghuis
Priority: Minor
hadoop-daemon.sh script created pid files on when namenode, jobtrackers, etc. deamons are started.
When the deamon is stopped in a regular manner through the stop script, it should clean up the pid file to indicate normal controlled exit.
Presence of a pid without running corresponding process would then indicated abnormal end of the process.
