Thanks for sharing. I agree that the solution needs to have that users can fill out the quantity on certain expense products (your example of the miles), and that in those cases the amount to be reimbursed should be calculated based on quantity * price.

The difficulty surely doesn't lie in registering expense declarations and their items, nor does it lie in the approval process. The complexity is in the processing by accounting after a declaration has been approved. Think of the multi currency aspect that might be applicable on the items combined with the various payment options (cash, company card, personal card, vouchers, cash advances, etc) that can be applied to any item. While the cost accounting side of expense declaration is less complex, the challenge lies is the debt and payment accounting side.
