[jira] Commented: (SYNAPSE-495) Spring version update

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SYNAPSE-495?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12659428#action_12659428 ]

Eric Hubert commented on SYNAPSE-495:
-------------------------------------

Hi Charith,

but why again updating to a rather old version of Spring. The lastest 1.3+ compatible version is 2.0.8, but the latest release (1.4+ compatible) is 2.5.6. Is it really necessary to keep the Java 1.3 compatibility for Synapse? Synapse itself requires Java 1.5+.

Anyway I think making Spring completely optional would be more important. Just my 0.2 cents.
