RE: [juddi-Developers] jUDDI Release v1.0?

I just made those 'very small' architecture changes I mentioned last
week in the note below. Not really architecture changes ... Just some
movement and renaming of existing class files.

1. I've moved RegistryProxy from org.juddi.registry to org.juddi.client
to be more in line with the UDDI4j and WASP API's (and I think it
warrants it's own package).

2. I've renamed RegistryServer to RegistryEngine. I think the 'Server'
suffix was misleading as it's not a server at all.

Change #1 effected all of the classes under 'samples' and that's about
it. Change #2 mostly effected the test-drivers in the
'org.juddi.function' and 'org.juddi.datastore.jdbc' packages.

This is a good opportunity to open a v1.0 discussion. I've replaced the
recipient list with "juddi-developers" so this thread is archived.

...my thoughts...

I'm more inclined to believe that a 1.0 release will happen sometime in
late September. I've got a couple more "very small" architecture changes
that I'd like to make first. Perhaps I'll make them this weekend and
post a 0.8.1 release so they're out of the way.

Also, we're working on a fairly comprehensive suite of JUnit tests right
now that I hope will help unearth any remaining persistence,
serialization and (of course) "NullPointerException" bugs that may still
exist.

I think we need to implement the validate_values functionality prior to
a 1.0 release - I've started working on this already. And, as I
mentioned before, it would be nice to complete jUDDI's UDDI client in
the 1.0 release.

Subject: jUDDI Official Release v1.0

Hello All,
Dr.Christoph G. Jung, Project Leader- Web Services,
JBoss has conveyed his appreciation for the wonderful
work you guys have done. We want to upgrade the
internal juddi registry in JBoss from v0.6.2 to a
newer version.

Are we supposed to have a v1.0 official release in
August?? If yes, we will upgrade to 1.0 directly in
JBoss.

Long Live Open Source!

Cheers,
Anil
