I use Anthill (http://www.urbancode.com/projects/anthill/default.jsp),
works fairly well, but seems to crash tomcat a lot. It runs as a
webapp.

Looking for ready made build systems... that has
schedule,
ant/make
templates,
build log results...
yes i know we all have it build from scratch but any ready made tools and
how good are they?

Check out ApolloWorks from ApolloSoft.
It absolutely rocks (forgive me being biased). It is simple to set up,
and just works out of the box.
