Arrg: org.apache.maven.skins:maven-default-skin:jar:RELEASE
So I have searched the internet and read about all the people that have
hit this issue, but I haven't found any solutions to this.
Does anyone have a clear and concise method for resolving this?

Are you using a proxy for downloading maven stuff?
If so, make sure that it has the artifact
"org.apache.maven.skins:maven-default-skin" in it.
