   I'm also seeing this - I'm still trying Superset out so I'm not yet invested enough to dig in deeply to this, but it is _bizarrely_ slow when using a remote database server. Like @sjmeyer , I can run all sorts of things with excellent performance against the same database host. I'm not sure this is 
   "not a Superset issue" - I've never seen anything quite like this, whatever it is. It works, it's just unconscionably slow at every turn.
