[VOTE] subversion cvs2svn proposal
[Forgive me for the looong email....]
Hi all,
>From Cliff's recent post I think we can assume we all would like to move
to
svn. Read the apache steps to convert to svn first before reading

Steps for us:
- xmlbeans PMC approval of one of my drafts request below
- a PMC member must mail the request to infrastructure
- once infra has moved it to a test repository, we verify it
- once we approve, cvs will be locked.
- drink a beer for joy.
After the migration, I think we should discuss cutting some releases.
If the
migration to svn will take a while (2+ weeks?), we can do the releases
from cvs.
I'd like your feedback on the svn directory structure. I've created a
proposal below. In my proposal, v2 become the trunk and v1 and v1-jdk13
are
branches. An alternative is to keep the structure as it is today with
v1 and
v2 each having trunks, tags, and branches. I personally think the first
way
will be easier. ;) Please see the vote form below...
In the end, it doesn't matter a whole lot since we can move things
around.
Also, remember that subversion doesn't really have a notion of tags or
branches -- they are just directory copies.

help, along with an indication about when it can be done.
