[jira] [Created] (OAK-3507) Virtual index rows should have paths as
'null'
Vikas Saurabh created OAK-3507:
----------------------------------
Summary: Virtual index rows should have paths as 'null'
Key: OAK-3507
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-3507
Project: Jackrabbit Oak
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: query
Reporter: Vikas Saurabh
Priority: Minor
While discussing OAK-3156, it was decided that virtual rows would have returned path as {{null}}. Opening this issue to let OAK-3156 be resolved as status quo on value being returned by virtual rows.
Note: Having {{null}} paths for virtual rows is semantically correct as there is no defined meaning of a path for those rows. But it brings in some backward incompatibility issue:
* existing queries which would have some {{... AND jcr:path='/'}} would not work anymore
* xpaths has path built in implicitly, so xpath need to be un-supported
PS: Do look at comments on OAK-3156 to get more details into how/why did we arrive here.
