Thanks for looking into this Gilles! Maybe the docs of the unsupported version should do one of the following:
1. stay up with a disclaimer that it's unsupported,

2. link to or redirect to the latest version, or;

3. have the links to them pruned (picture of links from side bar attached)

Removing references would help ensure 404s aren't thrown when folks come looking for docs from a search engine.
