Cannot increase max instances limit for a host

Hello Everybody,

I'm on CS v4.18.2.0. Despite the fact that there are plenty of
available CPU and RAM resources on the physical host, I'm unable to deploy
new virtual machines on the cloud. In the hosts list in the UI, it shows
max instances limit = 46 / 46. I have increased the "Max guest limit"
setting for KBM in the Hypervisor capabilities section. I have also
restarted the management server. But it still caps the number of guests
that can be deployed on the host. How do I fix this issue and force
Cloudstack to increase max instances limit per host so I can deploy new
instances?

Any advice is highly appreciated.

Best regards.

Hi Daan

I have already realized the meaning of 46 / 46. I was unable to deploy new
instances. The reason was that the resource allocation thresholds for the
cluster were exceeded but I thought the max number of instances limit was
reached. I have already fixed the problem by adjusting thresholds.

All the best

Fairborz,
Can you be more precise about what you are trying to do to resolve
your problem. I understand the issue but not what setting you have
increased and by what interface. I am looking at a newer version and I
cannot find such a setting in the code. The 46 / 46 just means that
the host has 46 VMs allocated and all are running.
