OSGi based scheduling? Quartz?
Hi all,
Does the OSGi spec contain any standard services for scheduled processes?
There doesn't seem to be anything in the compendium or core specs. Should I
just look at rolling against Quartz itself or does anyone have any better
solutions/suggestions?

In this project, we have developed a lightweight scheduler using a
cron-like notation

The license is LGPLv2.1

Felix - cheers, since we're already using Sling I'll take a look at this
bundle and work from there.

Let me throw in Sling to the soup ;-)
In Sling we have a Quartz based scheduler bundle [1], which may help
you. The bundle includes the Quartz library internally and does not
expose it into the exported class space.

Funnily enough - one of our users recently asked us about the ability to
create scheduled jobs.
We hadn't taken it further as yet, but an OSGi service would make good
sense as an approach.

Just replying to myself here - I guess mixing
java.util.concurrent.ScheduledExecutorService and the Event Admin service
would do most of what I want - I think I'll investigate this angle of
thought.
