Changes in revision 374949 should fix this bug. I have actually created a test
case using ActiveMQ that verified the bug and the fix, but I have not committed
this test case as yet without discussing the test and it's dependencies with the
rest of the log4j dev team.
I'm confident that your suggested changes have fixed the root cause.
