Flume release compatible with Hadoop 2.1 and later

Guys,

as has been requested in this original post from Mark Grover
  http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/flume-dev/201403.mbox/%3CCAKm=R7Vssd6ueHrJxhZXhys838mhgJ4hQ88WfMnmCFFMcmVMSg@mail.gmail.com%3E

we are seeing an issue with Flume not working with any hadoop of version 2.1
or later. Is there any chance that Flume community will be having a release in
the near feature that includs FLUME-2172?

We are heading towards Bigtop 0.8.0 release - the first Apache Hadoop 2.3
based stack - and Flume's inability to work with protobuf 2.5 is a certain
blocker for it.

Please let us know if we can be at help.

Hi,

I had told Matk I will get to it soon. Unfortunately multiple things came

Thanks
Hari

Soon we are going to release flume 1.5, currently first flume 1.5 RC is in-progress.

You can expect FLUME-2172 & FLUME-2263 in flume 1.5.
