[~pingsutw] comment says deprecated since 2.0.0.... is that possible given hbase 2.0.0 has shipped already but you are only adding deprecation now. Should it be deprecated since 2.1.4/2.2.0? Thanks. I submitted your patch so it gets a qa run.
