REQUEST_URI and HTTP_REFERER don't handle URL/URI anchor/hash, i.e. '#name'
Summary: REQUEST_URI and HTTP_REFERER don't handle URL/URI
anchor/hash, i.e. '#name'
Product: Apache httpd-2.0
Version: 2.0.49
Platform: Sun
OS/Version: Solaris
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: Other
Component: mod_env
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: Rolf.Sponsel@kstr.lth.se
CC: Rolf.Sponsel@kstr.lth.se
I'm surprised that nobody seems to have noticed that the SSI variables
'REQUEST_URI' and 'HTTP_REFERER' don't handle/contain the anchor/hash part of
the URL/URI.
This is serious as it's not possible to e.g. return to the section of a - long -
page via a link based on the value of 'HTTP_REFERER'. One will always end up at
the top of the page to which 'HTTP_REFERER' points.
There might be other variables that have lost the anchor part too.
Best Regards,
Rolf Sponsel
