Re: [VOTE] Release Apache Qpid Incubating M3 (RC2)

After feedback, I have cut, signed, built, smoke tested and uploaded
Apache Qpid M3 RC2.

As before, release notes are located here:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?version=12312117&styleName=Html&projectId=12310520&Create=Create

Download it from:
http://people.apache.org/~aidan/qpid/M3-RC2/

Please vote to:
[+1] Release M3

I'm have written an Ant script to build it, so you can simply add that
build.xml in to your main build.

I think the release version 1.0 is for the M3 release but I was kind of
early with MC release, may be I can send the release not e again, after the
M3 release note.

Any thoughts

Lahiru,

How are you building the Management Console? Would be good to have a
simple process for building / releasing the MC for M3.

I did make dist and then renamed the tarfile, seemed the easiest way
at the time.

Question: I see the RC2 C++ taballs are named qpid-incubating-M3, which
is good, but it appears the trunk configure.ac is still using qpidc as
the project name. Did you rename the tarballs in a separate step after
running "make dist" or temporarily change the configure.ac?

No problem for the release either way. We had some automated build
hiccups here that looked like there was a temporary change comitted. We
should probably fix our build process not to make assumptions about the
distro name since it changes for for every version change also.

I'm closing this vote with the following tally:

8 +1s (1 of which was binding)
0 0's
0 -1's

Result was a vote to release, I'll be starting the appropriate thread
on general@incubator momentarily
