Trying to request a new account for user rombert I was getting this error:

  #<NoMethodError: undefined method `shellescape' for nil:NilClass>

Turns out that his email was wrongly recorded as robert.lmn.ro in iclas.txt - changing the first dot to @ in there fixed the problem.

A more explicit error message would be helpful.
