{quote} Maybe it would be nice to have a list of concrete projects you have in mind, as I think about that, there is a lot of tooling I am sure other parties / contributors are taking care of primarily so I do not want to step on anybody's toes.{quote}

I do not think that anybody has a concrete list in mind. The goal of this ticket is to ensure that the *popular* third-party tools function properly with 4.0. Unfortunately, *popular* is pretty suggestive. So, my approach is to gently ping the people that take care of some know open sources tools and to let them chose if they want to contribute by testing them with 4.0. It is up to them to say which tool they want to test. We do not have the resources to do it ourself. The only thing that we can say is that we will try to address the issues found while testing those tools before releasing 4.0.

The final output of that ticket should be a list of open source tools that have been validated with 4.0. Ideally when we will relaese 4.0 we will able to provide that list to show that the eco systems is ready for 4.0.

> Many users of Apache Cassandra employ open source tooling to automate Cassandra configuration, runtime management, and repair scheduling. Prior to release, we need to confirm that popular third-party tools function properly.
