problems of a bagginer - errors: exception

hi there, i'm new in axis and in this maillinglist
i started with axis this week and i start reading the instalation pdf i downloaded from ws.apache.org/axis
i installed j2sdk, tomcat 5.0, and axis 1.1
until step 4: validate the instalation was everything allright, i validate the happyaxis.jpg and i was allright, no errors.
but when i clicked in the others links to se the services, for instance, i noticed that there were no other folders but web-inf, so the next steps i didn'd do right, because those missing files and folders.
now i report some problems i had and couldn't solve it...
when i was testing a jws endpoint (1.7.5 in the installations instructions) i put the querystring in the address bar (http://localhost:8080/axis/EchoHeaders.jws?method-list)
but the onluy thing was shown in my browser was all the code of this page, as it was no compiling the file....

i forget about that and move ahead, when i was (i am yet) in item 1.9.2 (find the deployment descriptor) i had to do the following command 
java -cp %AXISCLASSPATH% org.apache.axis.client.AdminClient -lhttp://localhost:8080/axis/services/AdminService deploy.wsdd
 but this returned me an error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang. NoClassDefFound
error: org/apache/axis/client/AdminClient

does anyone knows why is this happening?
if someone could help me in that i would apreciate a lot
