I tried to run this on pig-0.9 branch and pig-trunk. This isn't fixed! 

Try--

java -cp pig.jar org.apache.pig.Main -x local -f temp.pig -p "NAME=Aniket Mokashi"

temp.pig-

a = load '1.txt';
b = foreach a generate '$NAME';
dump b;
{code}
