[DISCUSS] Moving JIRA emails notification from kafka-commits@ to kafka-dev@
Guys,
I would like to propose moving the list for JIRA notifications from
commits@ to dev@.
The reason is that if people would like to know about direction of
Kafka development and find out what issues filed they just have to
subscribe to dev@.
Most of them do not necessarily interested following the files checkin history.
Penny for your thoughts?

I figured out that the jira@apache.org is not a member of the list so I had to moderate the messages. I'll get this fixed.

Alan,
I just updated a JIRA and only got an update to my email account, but not
kafka-dev. Is that expected?

I think the dev list works fine forJIRA updates because it related to
development.
Its probably the best if we could have kafka-issues@ list so the JIRA
cases could go to this list instead.
But for incubator project I am not sure if we could have this extra
mailing list.

I'm fine either way. Most projects I follow try to reserve the dev
list for having technical discussions about the code (and users for
helping people with user-facing questions). Most have a separate
commits list to avoid clutter of the dev list. But initially, I
imagine there won't be that many commits and we can always move stuff
around later.
