How to attach screenshot in Jira?

I tried attaching a screen shot - Firefox wouldn't work, IE runs the 
java applet, but I think doesn't actually do anything.

Has anyone succeeded in attaching a screenshot (not a file) to a Jira 
issue - and if so, how's it done?
