In the MT_DOP documentation, the following bullet point can be found:
_{{"DML}} statements. {{MT_DOP}} values greater than zero are not currently supported for DML statements. DML statements will produce an error if {{MT_DOP}} is set to a non-zero value."_
However, https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-10351 introduced this feature.
