I haven't had time to look at this request. But flask-appbuilder supports a feature which expose REST-API for all the model-view(https://flask-appbuilder.readthedocs.io/en/latest/quickhowto.html#rest-api). If we leverage that feature, we could just build or extend the modelView which we gets the REST API for free.
