[Bug 7779] New: false bounce messages to sender with construction term in domain name

https://bz.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=7779

            Bug ID: 7779
Summary: false bounce messages to sender with construction term
                    in domain name
           Product: Spamassassin
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Windows 7
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Rules
          Assignee: dev@spamassassin.apache.org
          Reporter: info@bakerdetailing.com
  Target Milestone: Undefined

affected domain: *@capcoerectors.com (steel erection company)

Senders from this domain receive bounce messages every time they send a
message. However, their messages do not bounce. They are delivered.

All senders, AND the domain have been whitelisted.

This exact error has been happening for at least one year.

Receiving domain: bakerdetailing.com (hosted by Bluehost)

Suspect the word "erect" is triggering something. Unable to explain why they
receive bounce messages at the same time the message is delivered.

Oh, sorry, I didn't notice that you were @bakerdetail.com - never mind the
"notify their postmaster" part of my suggestion.

--- Comment #1 from John Hardin <jh...@impsec.org> ---
Please subscribe to the SA Users mailing list and discuss it there. You will
probably be asked to provide a copy of the bounce notification and one of the
bounced-but-also-delivered messages.

This doesn't seem to be directly related to SA. All SA does is generate a score
for the message. Whether that leads to a rejection, delivery-to-quarantine or
delivery-to-inbox is the responsibility of something else in the mail system,
so the bounce-but-also-deliver behavior seems like a misconfiguration or bug in
the recipient's MTA. You should contact postmaster@bakerdetailing.com and
report this if you haven't already.
