Sqoop as Standalone without Hadoop Cluster
Hello,
I'd like to know if it's possible to execute Sqoop without a Hadoop
Cluster in standalone mode, like a JDBC Client.
So, it'd copy the result in the filesystem and I guess that it needs
the hadoop libraries .
Is it possible??

Indeed. Keep your eyes open for Sqoop2, which will have the ability to use
different execution engines. Hopefully, you'll have a choice in this matter
soon.

Hello, Guillermo,
I don't think you can achieve launching sqoop without hadoop. If you
take a look at bin/sqoop script, sqoop is being launched as hadoop
application:
exec ${HADOOP_COMMON_HOME}/bin/hadoop org.apache.sqoop.Sqoop "$@"
Best regards,
