[jira] [Commented] (LEGAL-557) Should the Apache license be displayed given the the code has been deleted

Justin Mclean commented on LEGAL-557:
-------------------------------------

If your code contains no Apache licensed code then the remaining code would be under its original license and there would be no need to display the Apache license. IANAL but I would consider that "product A" would not considered to be under the Apache license. You could, assuming you are the owner of the code, still choose to ship the remaining code in "product A" under the Apache license.

> Hi, I have a question regarding displaying the Apache 2.0 license in our product even though the code has been deleted.
>
> Given a hypothetical scenario that:
> - we use code that is licensed under Apache,
> - then delete the code using the license,
> - and then ship the product A (whose behavior has been impacted by the use of the deleted code under the Apache license),
>
> then:
> - is product A considered to be under the Apache license even though the Apache licensed code has been deleted?
> Thank you in advance.
